On October 19, 2017, representatives from Brock Built Homes attended a ceremony hosted by the Southface Energy Institute and the Greater Atlanta Homebuilders Association recognizing exemplary building focused on a commitment to sustainability. At this ceremony, we were awarded the EarthCraft 2017 Project of the Year award for the Mechanicsville redevelopment.
About the Mechanicsville Redevelopment
The goal of the Mechanicsville redevelopment is to provide low-income families with the opportunity to own their own homes. In order to see the redevelopment to fruition, our team worked with several developers and builders to construct more than 50 homes. Equipped with sidewalks and ample green space, the Mechanicsville community aligns with the style of all of our other Brock Built neighborhoods, with a focus on improving the quality of life within the community. 
About the EarthCraft Certification
The EarthCraft certification program is driven by consumer demands for low-cost eco-friendly homes. To be eligible for certification, builders have to submit their project against a point-based evaluation that includes criteria such as water conservation, energy-efficient appliances and lighting, indoor air quality, and resource-efficient building among many others. Commenting on the prestigious award, Brock Built President Steve Brock said, “Brock Built is a champion of sustainable building practices with every neighborhood we build.
