Celebrate the Fourth of July at Historic Marietta Square

marietta squareFourth of July fun and fireworks are coming to the vibrant Historic Marietta Square this Friday, only footsteps away from the beautiful cottage-style homes at Brock Built’s Mangêt community! Beginning at 10 a.m., the sidewalks lining this historic district will be filled with an estimated 30,000 spectators for the annual Marietta Freedom Parade.  Parade entries will include marching units from the City of Marietta, local businesses, a variety of civic organizations, beauty queens and scouts. This year, Former City Councilwoman Betty Hunter will serve as the Parade’s Grand Marshall. Following the float procession, the excited crowds can move from the streets to nearby Glover Park where a festival of family-friendly activities will be held throughout the day. The event will include free concerts with live music from Scott Thompson, the Atlanta Concert Band, Mary Kate Farmer and John King.  The event will also include museum tours, an arts and crafts show, delicious food and carnival games. To end the day with a bang, kick back and relax as you view a spectacular fireworks display. The show is scheduled to begin at approximately 9 p.m. Lucky for residents of Brock Built’s Mangêt community, this holiday celebration is held just a short stroll away from home!
