Employee Becca Reed Found her Home on the Brock Built Team
April 28, 2014
The featured Brock Built employee for the month of April is Accounting Manager, Becca Reed. Becca will be celebrating her 10-year anniversary at Brock Built this June, and currently serves as the “hub” of the Accounting Department. She is constantly finding new ways to be innovative and contribute to the company that she is so passionate about. Q: What are your duties at Brock Built? A: I’m responsible for making sure the Accounting department runs smoothly and keeping everything on track. I handle everything from Accounts Receivable, property tax, cash, closings and more. My largest responsibility is saving the company money by auditing, overseeing Accounts Payable and finding innovative ways to save and make money. The rest of the Accounting Department usually calls my position the “hub” of Accounting since I touch a little bit of everything that affects everyone’s jobs. Q: What is the most rewarding part of your job? A: I couldn’t be more blessed to work for such a great company. I love that as a full-time working mother, I don’t have to worry about missing things for my kids because Brock Built is such a family- oriented place to work. They understand how important it is to be there for your family. It’s also great to be able to come to work knowing that you’re going to be challenged each and every day. I absolutely love working at such a fast pace and constantly learning, growing and finding new ways to handle such a complex company. Q: How did you get started in real estate? A: I guess you could say I was born and raised in it, and that it runs in my blood. From the time I could read I was organizing invoices, and by the age of 10, I was handling the front desk of the construction company that my mother, grandfather and uncle worked for. I began as the receptionist for Brock Built and climbed my way up to my current position. Q: What makes Brock Built unique as a home builder? A: Steve doesn’t compromise the product he builds for profit. He prides himself in building homes that he would like to call home and builds the same for his customers. He is able to make beautiful neighborhoods in places that no one else would think to build on. Q: In your spare time, what do you like to do? A: As a full time working mother of two beautiful girls, six-year-old Jacey and five-year-old Kylie, there isn’t a lot of free time. We usually spend our nights and weekends at the softball fields or at karate lessons for the girls. I enjoy being outside playing softball, riding four-wheelers or even curling up with a good book.
