Fall Means Fresh Apple Picking and Festivals Are Here!

Now that Labor Day has come and gone earlier this month, the beginnings of the Fall season have begun arriving and there is plenty more on the way. While the official equinox of autumn doesn’t happen until Thursday, Sept 22nd, some of our favorite Fall happenings are already here or coming very soon. A few of the things we love about Fall are watching football games with friends, the weather turning cooler, the leaves starting to change, all the seasonal festivals across metro Atlanta, and that North Georgia’s apple picking season is here officially here. Enjoy this outdoor family-friendly fun activity as you witness the beautiful colors of autumn begin to appear.

Where to Go Apple Picking

Here’s a great list of North Georgia’s pick your own apple orchards and farms. All of them offer families and residents of Atlanta the opportunity to head out and pick some farm fresh apples. A few even have cafes and other attractions as well. Plan ahead and make a day of it, as most of them are really only a short drive beyond the metro Atlanta area. Panorama Orchards, Inc. Head to the Apple Festivals

As a bonus with the cooler Fall weather arriving and fresh GA apples being available, remember this also means it’s apple festival time in North Georgia. You should plan to check out the 45th Annual Georgia Apple Festival in Ellijay and the 29th Big Red Apple Festival in Cornelia, both happen the earlier weekends of October. Each event will offer lots of fresh and delicious apple-related food items for sale, plus arts and crafts, and various entertainment options. Visit the event websites for details on directions, their separate schedule of events, and other related info.
