As the game continues, the ball should bounce at least once on each side before players can volley the ball. Players earn a point when their opponents commit a fault. The original Opelika Pickleball Facility officially opened in 2019, just before the sport started booming in popularity. This $650,000 project included 12 covered pickleball courts. Today, the one-of-a-kind facility has 24 covered courts, all of which are fenced in—allowing for tournament-style play.
