Some of the best schools in Georgia recently became even more attractive. Microsoft has agreed to donate $10,000 to establish an exclusive Minecraft Lab for Marietta City Schools at the Marietta Center for Advanced Academics. Earlier this month, the MCAA, a magnet program elementary school, entered into an education partnership agreement with the software tech giant via the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce, Partners in Education Program. Through this partnership, the first ever Minecraft Lab, directly sponsored by Microsoft, will be created and developed at the MCAA. Overall, the unique lab will be used as a focus group case study to enhance Microsoft’s continued interest in education expansion. Students will participate in grade appropriate Minecraft challenges and teachers will receive professional development assistance towards increased utilization of the platform as a teaching tool. There will also be opportunities for Marietta High School students to collaborate in the lab through their International Baccalaureate projects.
